Sedation Algorithm for Ventilated patient over 6 months old
Bolus doses for patients receiving infusions
Bolus doses of sedation can be given for procedures and for breakthrough agitation in patients who are on a morphine or midazolam infusion:
Morphine bolus - 20micrograms/kg
Midazolam bolus - 20 micrograms /kg
These should be prescribed in the 'As required' section of the drug chart
